We do NOT store email addresses or IP addresses in our database. We use anonymous sessions to protect your privacy.
Information We Collect
We collect minimal information to provide our quiz functionality:
Name: When you participate in or create a quiz, you enter a display name. This is stored for quiz and leaderboard purposes only.
Quiz Responses: Your answers to quiz questions are collected to calculate and display your score.
Quiz Content: Questions and answers you create when building a quiz are stored to allow friends to take your quiz.
What We Do NOT Collect
Email addresses
IP addresses (not stored in our database)
Phone numbers or physical addresses
Government ID or financial information
Device fingerprints or persistent tracking identifiers
Children's Privacy — Important
The BFF Test is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. Our service does not require account registration, and we collect only a display name chosen by the user — not a real name, email, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has used our service and provided information, please contact us at privacy@thebfftest.com and we will take prompt steps to delete any such information from our systems.
We do not direct advertising specifically to children, and our data practices are designed to minimize the collection of any personal data from all users, including minors.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to monitor their children's online activity. The quiz names and leaderboards on this site are publicly accessible to anyone with the quiz link.
How We Use Your Information
The limited information we collect is used solely to:
Display your name on the quiz leaderboard
Calculate and show your quiz score
Maintain the functionality of the quiz experience
We do not use your information for marketing, advertising targeting, or any other commercial purposes beyond displaying ads through third-party ad networks (see Third-Party Services below).
Data Storage and Security
We use Supabase to handle database storage. All data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. Given that we only collect minimal, non-personal display names and quiz responses, the risk to your privacy is extremely low.
Google AdSense: We display ads through Google AdSense. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our site or other sites. You can opt out at google.com/settings/ads
Our application uses browser local storage to maintain your quiz session state. This information is stored locally on your device. Third-party advertising partners may use cookies for ad personalization as described above.
Data Retention
Quiz data is retained to allow ongoing leaderboard functionality. You may request deletion of your quiz data at any time by contacting us. Anonymous quiz IDs may be deleted periodically at our discretion.
Your Rights
You may request deletion of any data associated with a quiz you created
You may clear your browser's local storage at any time
EU/UK users may have additional rights under GDPR — contact us to exercise them
